2014 BOP (Battle of the Paddle) Report, Video, Full Results

The 2014 edition of the BOP (Battle of the Paddle) lived up to the expectations, to say the least. The move to salt Creek near Dana Point (california), did not make only happy people, but got the advantage to bring action for the paddlers and excitement for onlookers – with 4 to 6 ft waves surf to deal with on both ways of the race (in and out), surfing skills were mandatory this year in order to perform. Loads of contenders did fail to stay onboard and that did change to race somehow the results. But at the end of the day two surreal champions walked away with the champion crown, and it had nothing to deal with luck.

Congrats goes to Candice Appleby for her 5th title and to Kai Lenny for repeating his 2013 victory. They are both the 2014 BOP Champion (Elite Race)!

In the long distance race, held the next day on sunday, Danny Ching in the men and Lina Augaitis in the women took the title. (see full results below).
