Dave West brings us a dramatic edit on downwind foiling and how it has become a huge part of his life! Here’s what Dave has to say…
I can categorically say that downwinding has changed me as a person. You’re vulnerable. You’re tiny compared to the vastness of the ocean. And it’s always a challenge of your body, your mind, your choices vs the ocean. And the ocean is never the same. You have to adapt You have to dig deep And a lot of the time you CAN’T quit. Quit isn’t an option. And so often when you can’t quit it’s amazing that you CAN keep going Downwinding has shown me that if you just keep going – it’s amazing how far you can get. That if you tackle hard things – the rewards are the sweetest. That an easy life is actually the worst kind. Hard things are worth doing.
