SUPing on the Upper Russell Fork River
This year I got to show Elin, Lela, & Jennifer (who didn’t make it into this edit) down the incredible upper section of the Russell Fork River for their first time. The changing colors on the canyon walls and slopes are an inspiring backdrop to some really challenging whitewater – especially 20 Stitches (class III+) and Johnny Rock. Rock jumbles on top of big ledges is the order of the day in this river gorge – and will test your technical skills on a paddle board.
