Tim Godrey Joins The APP Team as Non-Executive Director
As the APP World Tour, recognised as the Official World Championship Tour for the rapidly expanding water sport of Stand Up Paddling, gears up for its upcoming 2024 season, Tim Godfrey joins as a Non-Executive Director to help with the strategic and commercial growth of the series. This move comes as the tour, exclusively sanctioned by the International Surfing Association (ISA), prepares to elevate its status and impact within global sport.
Founded in the Hawaiian Islands and now headquartered in Ericeira, greater Lisbon, Portugal, the APP World Tour hosts events across the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and has been crowning the Sports World Champions since 2010 for Stand Up Paddle Racing and Surfing disciplines. ?

Bringing extensive sector experience from dynamic and innovative brands, Tim Godfrey has played pivotal roles at challenger and disruptor companies, including Endemol, Perform Group, Formula E, ITN, SailGP, and the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO). Most recently, he has taken on strategic advisory roles with the founders of the Hexagon Cup and Engage Digital Partners (EDP). His diverse background positions him well to contribute valuable insights to the APP World Tour as it charts its course for strategic growth in the coming season.
Tim’s role will be to work alongside CEO Tristan Boxford and the management team as the tour develops into a leading global sports property which will host major professional and participation events across North America, Asia, Europe, Middle East and the Far East engaging what is an immense global and engaged audience, with dynamic elite level action and inspiring storytelling to drive commercial growth.
